Turn Back Time 1930's

On Friday 12th November, Residents from Lea House took a trip down memory lane with a visit to the BBC's Turn Back Time pop-up shop in Stockport.

The shop, located in an empty unit on Market Place was part of a new BBC Learning Hands On History project and landmark BBC One series, both aimed at giving today's shoppers the chance to experience living history and acquaint themselves with their communities past.

During their visit, residents were able to touch, hear and even smell what life was like on their local high street 80 years ago, and it was a great opportunity for them to share their own memories, photographs and mementoes, from when they were young, with carers and others alike.

"We really are very fortunate to have the BBC locate one of their pop-up shops here in Stockport, the benefits of this sort of hands on reminiscence therapy is priceless." said our Manager.
