The Big Knit 2010
Did you see those wonderful ladies in the Chorley and Leyland Guardian on Wednesday 29th September?
The newspaper featured an article which put Hazel House residents’ hard work in the spotlight. They have been knitting since June making almost 400 hats which will go on top of Innocent Smoothie bottles. They did this as part of the Age UK Big Annual Big Knit which hopes to raise over £200,000 by making 800,000 hats.
Their efforts were overseen by our Activities coordinator, Terri Rustage who said: “It’s been great to pull everyone together like this. All the staff have supported us and the ladies have been brilliant presenting me with bags of hats day after day.”
The hats were posted on October 5th so look out in November in Sainsbury’s and Boots and see if you can spot the ones we made. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated wool and to our residents who put in so much time and effort. Well done ladies it’s a record!
